We got back this morning. The trip was awesome. Here’s a view from our balcony. it doesn’t really give you a sense of how steep it is there. The “Hotel Venetblick” used to be “Mountain Haus”, which was owned by Tanja’s parents (she lived there).
more later… sleep now.

Here are some more pictures from the game. Unfortunately I was unable to go any lower to get closer pictures of the players, we were in the row behind the “line of demarcation”.

Doing the wave

They had to bring the rockpile and left field sections down onto the grass so they could see the fireworks.

Unfortunately, no tripods allowed, so any exposure longer than a split second were blurry. Here’s 2 shots, anyway.

All in all it was a very fun evening. The Rockies dominated the Mets, our seats were perfect for kids (wide spacing, tons of “legroom”). The girls made it through the night (we got home at almost 11:30) and the fireworks were hands down the most amazing display we have ever seen. 25 minutes of nonstop shells with an absolutely breathtaking grand finale.

Before a sellout crowd of 48,123, the Rockies became the first team to sweep the Yankees and the Mets in series of more than two games in the same season. It hadn’t happened since Interleague Play began in 1997. The 1976 Reds swept the Yankees in the World Series, but not the Mets during the regular season.

Was going to get pictures inside, but it was a madhouse. Great fun, though.

As I gradually make my way to a “respectable” gallery, here’s a sample of some fun we had today.
